Bio
Diane Goble has been a business consultant and personal counselor for 22 years, and a spiritual teacher for the last 16 of those years in Florida, California and on the World Wide Web; all the effects of a life changing near death experience in 1971. That awakening event was the catalyst for the ongoing, evolutionary process of personal and spiritual development within her. Her education led her into a period of self-discovery and mind-body-spirit healing. She went through all the processing and releasing and cleansing and inner meditative work that one must go through in order to become one's authentic self. She has studied all the world's religions and many leading edge spiritual teachings in a quest for understanding, truth and wisdom. And now she shares her unique perspective on her web site and by guiding others as they move through their own process of personal development, spiritual transformation, and transition to the spiritual world.
Diane is the author of Sitting in the Lotus Blossom (1989), a collection of metaphysical/philosophical/ theological essays, and Through the Tunnel: A Traveler's Guide to Spiritual Rebirth (1993), a guidebook for conscious dying. Over the years, she has written articles, spoken at many spiritual gatherings, and appeared on radio and TV talk shows promoting her book around the country.
After returning to education to study psychology and graduating with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology in 1983, Diane created one of the country's first stress management centers in 1986 and partnered in a mind-body healing center a year later. She returned to education again, 10 years later, to study hypnotherapy and specialized in past life regression as a therapeutic tool. She became an ordained minister with The Congregational Church of Practical Theology and practiced as a psycho-spiritual counselor. She was a hospice volunteer for many years and has developed a self-study course for those interested in becoming Transition Guides for the dying so no one will die feeling alone or afraid.
In 1996, Diane created this web site, Beyond the Veil, which has continued to grow in depth and content and has been visited by millions of people from over 120 different countries, all interested in spiritual awareness and in developing higher consciousness. Her mission involves helping others overcome fear of death and live in the joy of the present moment. She continues that today as a counselor from a higher consciousness perspective.
Counseling from a Higher Consciousness Perspective
Most near death experiencers will tell you they experienced an expansion of consciousness upon leaving their bodies. That they saw and understood everything all at once. And what they experienced was love, peace, acceptance, joy. While they lose the full impact of that experience, the gift they bring back to share with others is a higher consciousness perspective, a universal view, a global vision based on love and understanding... God-Consciusness. Counseling from a higher consciousness perspective considers the whole person-- body, mind and spirit-- in unity with the Source of our Being. This is about the consciousness evolution that is taking place among human beings in this Age. We each have a choice to be part of the process in the present or to remain unconscious throughout this lifetime and save awakening for a future incarnation. If you feel you are ready to evolve, a guide who has been through it can be helpful at various times along your path.
We are all on a spiritual path whether we know it or not, whether we actively participate or not, whether we accept it as a reality or adamantly deny even the possibility. Every experience we have is a lesson we are learning about love and compassion for our spiritual growth though it can be difficult to see it that way at the time one is going through a crisis. Often the shock of the experience (the death of a loved one, a divorce, a financial loss, a car accident, job loss, an illness) blinds us to the bigger picture and we don't know where to turn... life becomes a blur. While there may be support groups, therapists and well-meaning family and friends around to help us through these rough times... sometimes, often in the middle of the night, we wish there was some anonymous person we could vent all our troubles too.
Diane is a firm believer in writing down the thoughts that run through our minds, especially those that keep us awake at night, and recommends anyone wanting to understand their life, why they are here and what their purpose is, to keep a journal. A good way to end the day is to spend a few minutes writing down one's thoughts about the day. Getting the thoughts on paper gets them out of our minds and allows for a more restful sleep. In the same way, if you're fearful, write about your fears... have a dialog, give them names, draw pictures, write a story about your fears that ends well for you. Write down your dreams, strange coincidences, odd occurrences, weird experiences. These exercises become the information we need to understand ourselves. Over time we can begin to see the bigger picture of who we are. Patterns emerge, synchronicities blend, why things happened begin to make sense, how we got from here to there becomes clear... the past becomes less important, less influential on our lives. As we come to terms with our past, we can begin to look for the strengths we gained from hardship, loneliness, loss, even abuse, that we have risen above. We find ourselves letting go of the baggage we've been carrying around that has kept us from becoming who we truly are, our authentic self. It becomes easier to forgive others and, more importantly, ourselves. We become lighter, more open-minded and start looking deeper into ourselves for answers to our deeper questions about life, death and beyond.
I am a Mirror. I simply reflect back the energy that is sent to me via email. My reply may not be what you want to hear, but it's likely to be what you needed to hear to motivate you to change something about your life. The stronger your reaction, the more likely I touched on something you need to get out of denial about and explore on a deeper level, which will accelerate the process of your spiritual journey. Keeping things inside, not being willing to do the personal growth work that needs to be done first, precludes progress towards spiritual development. People today want instant results, instant enlightenment. If meditation isn't some glorious experience the first time, they're done with it and on to the next fad. That's not how it works. If it were easy, we would all be enlightened! But, thanks to the internet, you can accelerate because all the information you need to get started is in front of you... all you have to do is make the decision to do the work. There are tools to help you evolve to higher consciousness and with any of them, patience, perseverance and practice, practice, practice, are required. I'm here to offer my counsel along your journey. ~dg

On a Spiritual Path
Many near death experiencers report experiencing a life review where they get to reexamine their lives from a higher perspective. They not only get to see themselves but they experience all the feelings and emotions of themselves and others both at times when they were helpful to others and when they were hurtful to others. They are shown the consequences of not acting out of love, compassion, or forgiveness, and how things might have been different if they had taken a higher ground, then are sent back to do greater things with their lives by expressing God's love in their everyday lives. But we don't have to wait until we die or have a near death experience to get ourselves back to our purpose in life. Anyone can do a life review themselves now... if you are willing to be honest and patient with yourself.
Psychology and the self-help movement have done a lot to get people involved in personal growth but it has led people in a egoic, narcissistic direction. The reason that happened is they left out the soul. This isn't about ego-gratification and self-aggrandizement, it isn't about winning, being the best or getting the most, it's about getting closer to God and being the best version of you, you can be. That is the Soul Path we are all on... how each of us expresses that is our own unique gift to the world. Greater health consciousness has brought the body into line, now we need to integrate the spirit into our lives in order to live fully. So you call upon your soul and ask for help in this process because you don't know what you're supposed to do. Then it's up to you to pay attention... to coincidences, to little things you usually rush by without a thought, to the energy around you, to odd things that catch your attention, to repetitive patterns, to things that upset you. Your soul will give you messages but it's you who must notice them and act on them. Resolve what you need to resolve, get out of denial, forgive those you need to forgive, let go of what no longer serves you, change what you can and accept what cannot be changed.... and trust that you have the wisdom to know the difference. What you need to know will come to you when you are ready to receive it and prepared to handle it. You will never get more than your soul knows you can handle. Near death experiencers tell us that it is better to deal with a life review process while here than when we reach the other side and Diane tells us from her experiences with clients, "Believe it or not, it hurts more to keep it bottled up inside than it does to get it out, but the only way to know that is to let it out."
In one of Diane's Lessons Beyond the Veil, Know ThySelf, there is an exercise designed to help us see ourselves as mirrors in which other people reflect back to us things we need to pay attention to about ourselves, the issues we need to work through. The greater our reaction to something someone does or says to us, the more urgent it is that we look inside ourselves, find out where it is coming from and dissolve the power it has had over us. These are keys to knowing yourself and accepting yourself for who you are, loving yourself as a great spirit having a human being experience. Putting aside denial, accepting it as true, opens it to the light and allows us to look at it dispassionately and release it. This is what happens during a near death life review. In body, these are lessons in learning to love unconditionally, as well as increasing our awareness and our active participation in our evolving process of personal and spiritual transformation.
If you are working on this path of understanding your self, who you are, what your purpose is, and feel you could benefit from some further insight from a high consciousness perspective, you are welcome to email Diane with your questions or concerns (Subject: Spiritual Path/first name)
If you are a serious seeker on a spiritual path, Diane suggests you read her eBook, Sitting in the Lotus Blossom, which she will be happy to discuss with you.
Elderly or terminally ill
Bookstore and links for caregivers and patients.
Many near death experiencers share their stories with others to give them hope that there is life beyond this life, that we continue to exist after physical death and that we will be with our loved ones again in another dimension of God's vast universe. Diane shares her story and those of others on her web site and provides links to other sites and books related to near death and other spiritual experiences, conscious dying and the after life. Many people have reported feeling less fear of dying, increased ability to forgive and let go, and greater faith in an ongoing after life with loved ones after spending time on her site.
While it is important for all of us to be prepared when our dying time comes, it is most helpful to those nearing the end of their lives from old age or a terminal illness to know what to expect just before and just after their last breath. To die without fear and move quickly into the light offers us our greatest opportunity for spiritual growth. To expect a life review and have completed it as best one could during life (see above) accelerates the process of reuniting with loved ones. To have practiced dying before dying guarantees a peaceful, joyful transition back to our spiritual being and home.
Diane's book, Through the Tunnel, was written for the dying and their caregivers as a guidebook for conscious dying and it is based on her near death perspective of death and dying. She included information from all the great religions as well as people involved in the field of death and dying from gurus to researchers to provide an approach to dying into the light adaptable to any belief system. The book or quotations from it have been included in many student papers and theses, and used in courses to train nurses, ministers, hospice workers, volunteers and caregivers to be with the dying when they make their transition. Further information about training to be a guide to conscious dying can be found here.
If you have read Through the Tunnel and want to discuss it in relation to your situation, whether you are dying or a caregiver or have lost a loved one or want to be prepared in case of an unexpected death, Diane will be happy to give you her near death perspective (Subject: Conscious Dying/first name)
Considering suicide
People who attempt suicide and have a near death experience have a clear message for those considering it. You can't kill yourself because we don't die. Wherever you go, there you are! You will continue to be conscious, taking with you the reasons for suiciding, as you leave your body. You will suffer the pain you caused others by your act. You are likely to have to deal with the consequences in a life review and then be sent back quickly to work it out in another life. In cases of failed attempts, the person's consciousness is exposed to the light long enough to impress God's love upon them, even though they may also have a nightmarish experience, after coming back they all say they would never attempt suicide again... not because of fear, because they saw the light and realized the value to living out one's lifetime regardless of the circumstances. They move beyond themselves and start manifesting love and compassion in the world by helping others realize suicide is not the answer.
It's not because suicide is a sin or bad and you won't go to "hell" for eternity... it's because it doesn't take away the problems you can't seem to solve, you take these issues and emotional pains with you when you go, the life review process begins in the darkness and despair you bring with you, and you're likely to be separated from those you love for a long time because you have all these unresolved emotional issues to work out on the other side. It may just be that you have never talked to anyone about your pain and this is an opportunity to open up to a compassionate, nonjudgmental listener.
If you are considering suicide and would be open to a near death perspective, send email to Diane (Subject: Suicide/first name)
Grieving over the loss of a loved one
A near death experiencer's perspective is often comforting to someone grieving over the loss of a loved one. There are no words to make the pain go away or ease the longing to be back with a loved one but there is hope from near death experiencers' stories that life does go on in another reality and we will be reunited with our loved ones on the other side when we cross over. If after reading Diane's near death experience story, you have further questions or comments, send email (Subject: Grief/first name).
Questions about what one experiences during the process of dying, physically, emotionally and spiritually, are described in her book, Through the Tunnel.
Had a near death or other spiritual experience
Many people who have these extraordinary experiences have difficulties adjusting to being back in their bodies, back in their lives, afterwards. Fortunately today we have enough research and information to provide support to those struggling to integrate the experience into their everyday lives. When Diane had her NDE over 30 years ago, there was no information available and she was more likely to be dismissed than listened to even by those closest to her. It wasn't until almost 15 years later that she picked up a book, in which Ruth Montgomery talked about walk-ins, that things began to make sense for her and it became okay to talk about her near death experience even if though some people thought she was crazy!
Now there is a plethora of books, videos, movies and research information available on the Internet to help modern day near death experiencers accept what happened to them as an acceleration of consciousness leading to greater spiritual development while in body. Near death experiences are a quantum leap in the evolution of human consciousness toward God-Consciousness, a great deal for the unprepared to absorb all at once. Diane has accumulated a library of resources about near death and other spiritual experiences to help others integrate their experience more smoothly. Reading what others have gone through before has a profound healing effect.
Experiencers are teaching the message that we are spiritual beings having human being experiences, not bodies with souls, and that physical death is not the end of our lives, simply our transition back to our spiritual home. This message of love and light is spread further by near death experiencers opening up and telling their stories to others, giving peace of mind and comfort to the dying and the grieving.
Many experiencers say that it took them 7 years or thereabouts to integrate and understand it, but that is by no means universal. I know some NDErs who say they were changed instantaneously and have been the same ever since, and others who say their understanding of their experience is still growing after decades. If you would like to talk with Diane about your experience and how it is affecting your life, send email (Subject: NDE/first name)
Cost
If you feel my counsel would be helpful to your spiritual path, I offer email and telephone sessions based an equal exchange of energy. I give my clients 100% of my attention during a session and offer my higher consciousness perspective to support them on their spiritual paths. In deciding what is an "equal" exchange, consider what you would have to pay a professional counselor, as well as the value of the information to your personal and spiritual growth. The suggested fee is between $25 and $100 an hour (2 hour maximum) depending on your ability to pay. I don't ask for financial proof, just honesty and integrity. This issue is part of your spiritual lessons also concerning fairness, generosity, sharing, giving, letting go, accepting responsibility, trust, judgements and more.
I'm not offering ongoing, long term counseling, however if you are in counseling or working on a self-help program or studying an area of personal development, I'd be honored to offer my perspective, my support, my encouragement, my blessing, whatever you need to motivate you to continue on your path. But this is your hero's journey, your quest for the Holy Grail. Your journey begins within you when you, by accident or choice, become a seeker of higher consciousness. To begin, you must first come to Know Thy Self... let down your defenses, get out of denial, accept who you really are, and be that authentic self... when you feel good about who you are then move deeper into the spiritual aspects of your existence. To skip this step is to build a house without a foundation. In truth, if you haven't already done the basic work, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about on this web site and haven't stayed long enough to get even this far.
To help you on your path, wherever you are when you do find this page, I've been searching the internet for personal and spiritual growth programs and tools to offer those who are ready to pursue their own evolution, and I'm being very selective about it. Since I've been involved in this field for almost 3 decades, I know of most of the developers and have a good idea of what an effective program is. At the same time, I can't guarantee anything because people are different and they think, learn and behave differently in different circumstances. It can be a process of finding what's right for you, what works for you. Keep in mind that part of the journey involves becoming aware of the energy around you and learning discernment... and that can mean getting ripped off, scammed, fooled, sucked in, etc. until you get the lesson (I learned it the hard way myself... if something sounds too good to be true, it is... I guarantee you). Also be aware that your level of patience, perseverence, participation and practice, practice, practice have much to do with the success of any program you decide to participate in. If you're not willing to do the work, to take responsibility, to own the behavior, don't blame it on the program. But have the sense to know when it's just not working for you and seek another path. When you're having problems with a program or second thoughts, it's an excellent time to contact me... you're not a failure, don't be afraid to ask for help.

OTHER HELPFUL LINKS
I will continue to add new programs and provide as much information about them as I can. I'd appreciate reviews from anyone who completes a program to help others decide whether they might be interested (would you recommend it, how did it help you, was it worth the money, rate 1 to 5 stars, etc). Many of these are Affiliate sites where this site earns commissions on your pruchases, which help to support this site.
I will donate 10%* of commissions earned on your purchases from these Affiliate sites to the Red Cross. I feel strongly that the greatest threat to human beings are the natural diasters that occur, often without warning. I want to make sure the Red Cross is always there to help the victims of these dreadful earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, cyclones, tornadoes, floods, volcanos, forest fires, etc. May this also be a beginning for you to help others while you are improving yourself.
