Research into the information about Past Lives gathered during Past Life Regression sessions is revealing a new paradigm concerning the ongoing developmental process of Human Consciousness. In Self-Disclosure of a SOUL Memory: Research into why we live over and over again, Dr. June G. Bletzer, also the author of The Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary, hypothesizes that the reason Souls continue to reincarnate as various human beings in different time periods and environments involves understanding what it is to be human in all circumstances, from all perspectives. It is not a result of reward and punishment, rather a perfecting process of the Soul. She says we are all basically here studying human behavior at Earth University. Each lifetime is a part of a greater Whole leading to greater compassion and love for all life God-Consciousness!
The value of getting in touch with highlights from many Past-Lives is not about learning who we were, but in rounding out or balancing our personality, and in realizing that we have lived many lives before and will return to experience many more, freeing us from the fear of death and, eventually, from the Cycle of Life, Death and Rebirth. Compassion is born in us with the realization that our own survival is not our reason for being.
In other words, there is no death. Life goes on whether we are in a human body or our more refined form, which is called spiritual or etheric. We are all going through this same process think how much more progress we could make if we were aware of what we are here to study in this life our life's purpose. It enables us to develop the ability to make better choices in our present human lifetime, and to enjoy living each lifetime more creatively and peacefully, no matter what our circumstances or abilities.
Past-Life Knowledge can enhance your creativity by increasing your self-discovery talents long forgotten, strengths you never knew you had, abilities not developed in this life, interests not pursued.
For those who have doubts about Reincarnation, it doesn't matter whether you believe it or not because the information that surfaces from the Subconscious or Soul Mind during Past Life Regression sessions will relate to what you are here to learn about in your present life situation and will increase your understanding of who you are, why you are here and your purpose in this life.
Some people are afraid that if it were known what a wonderful experience dying into the Light is, people would be committing suicide like Lemmings. Others are afraid if people realized they lived many lifetimes, they would live this one with reckless abandon, not caring about themselves or others.
Consider that Near Death Experiencers are given the choice whether to return to their body and, while many don't want to leave at first, their Near Death Experience teaches them the true value of experiencing life in the physical world and how to be in the world without being attached to it, and they choose to return. They have a second chance in the same lifetime to develop a more holistic perspective on life and find the Joy in Being Fully-Human. NDErs come back from their experience transformed and their lives after are very different because they realize how short and precious human life is. Those who die before they have this realization, have to wait for their next incarnation and hope they remember the Truth sometime during that life.
Those who opt for suicide as a way out will find out too late why it would have better for their spiritual growth to have stayed around and seen it through, and that they are going to be faced with similar dilemmas, involving lessons not learned, in their next incarnations so their early exit was a waste of a valuable life experience. However, if you think about suicide as an experience, we have all probably committed suicide in one or more lives, meaning it is not a "sin" nor does it condemn us to hell, but it is part of our greater learning process. Everyone alive now has the opportunity in this life to open to their Spiritual Nature and live with Joy, not because you have to, but because it is who you are. It doesn't matter what your job is or where you live or what your circumstances are, if you do it all with Love, this world will become a better place for all of us to have our Human Experiences.
If you are interested in past life regression, I offer the following guidelines for finding a therapist:
Check out metaphysical, new age or holistic health/healing centers or bookstores. They often have therapists on-site or offer referrals, or carry small newspapers where therapists advertise.
Call several therapists and ask general questions about regression and what you want to get out of it. Just get a feel for the therapist, as rapport is the best predictor of success. Ask for a free consultation.
At the free consultation for you to determine if you are comfortable with the person and the environment, talk about why you want to do regression, what you hope to get out of it and ask for feedback. Ask about their credentials and experience, their methods, what you can expect from a session, and the cost. You can still think about it for a few days before you make an appointment.
Before your appointment, you might want to read "Preparing to surface past lives using hypnosis" from June Bletzer's book, Self-Disclosure of a SOUL Memory.
Regression therapy is not for people who just want to know who they were in a past life, you can go to a psychic for that. It is for people who have issues that can't be explained by this life and have tried all the conventional methods with no relief, which is why I suggest you find someone with a counseling background. It can help you understand why you are going through this, what you are here to learn, what karma you are dealing with, what you are studying at Earth University.
If you would like to try some exercises yourself, which may help you decide if you want to see a regression therapist, I offer the following suggestions:
- Stream-of-consciousness writing
Starting from a meditative state, begin writing words, any words, and free-associate (one word leads to another). If you get into a theme, go as far as you can go with it. Begin to form a story, develop characters, an environment, a time period, circumstances, historical events. One story may evolve into another, just let it flow. As you do this over time, you may find that certain characters, themes, locales, time periods, run through many stories. Make notes about patterns that emerge. The ideas that feel most intriguing or most uncomfortable to you offer clues to past-life experiences which you may want to look into on a deeper level guided by a hypnotherapist.
- Make a list of interests
Think back to your childhood and make a list of things you liked to do/hated to do, things that interested you or frightened you, games you liked to play, strange occurrences, chance meetings, people who influenced you, subjects you liked/hated in school, places and cultures that interested you, talents and special abilities or interests you had as a child but gave up, things that you had strong feelings about one way or the other, significant events with other people. Patterns can emerge when all of these kinds of things are put together that may indicate carry overs from past lives, lives you may want to learn more about with a hypnotherapist.
- Go to the library, a museum, an antique shop, an art/photography exhibit
These places can stir past life memories. Pay attention to things that pique your interest or particularly annoy you. You will find yourself attracted to or repulsed by things that remind you subconsciously of places and times that you lived in the past. When you notice something, explore it further in more detail. Keep a journal.
