Note from the author:

Many people, who have had a Near Death Experience, report that they came back with a mission related to a higher purpose in life. Although it may have been clear to them at the time, once back in the physical world, they remember only that they have a mission, not what it is.

It seems to be an unfolding process; many unforeseen changes occur, lessons come at a faster pace, synchronicities become common, unexpected opportunities arise, new directions are taken (sometimes forward, sometimes back) until, finally, all the pieces come together and there is an awakening... a realization of that higher purpose.

It took me over 20 years of searching for answers, studying at universities, readings tons of books, seeking wisdom from the masters, and meditating (listening to God) to realize that I came back from death's door to help others overcome their fear of death so that they may live their lives fully, filled with Universal Love and Peace... secure in their hope that life does go on after death and that they will be with their loved ones again... because that's what happened to me.
Insert by author 10/2000: However, I'm not monastic. I have a life. I've had several careers, am an entrepreneur at heart and have had several businesses of my own. I have grown children all living nearby and two grandchildren. I'm a caregiver for my elderly mother. I'm not a vegetarian. I don't meditate every day. I still have some addictions to deal with and I still get angry sometimes. I'm no saint and in no way special except to my children. I'm not seeking recognition, praise, accolades nor a following. I have no emptiness that needs filling, no need for another to complete me. That's the point. I am complete, whole, enough, at peace, in love with God and this incredible planet. I'm loving life, doing things I love to do, and looking forward to returning home when this body gives out. There is no sadness, no pain, no suffering, no guilt, no regrets, no longing, no despair, no hatred, no fear. It is this peace of mind that I offer others through my writings.

After having been a counselor and teacher for many years, the need to write this book became very strong (1992) and I had to take time out to write it; shortly thereafter, I became a Hospice volunteer and an ordained minister. And now my life is dedicated to helping those who are suffering with the fear of death; those who are dying; and those who are grieving for loved ones, dead or dying.

This book is not the story of my near death experience while drowning, but how what I consciously remember from that experience fits in with what I have learned about the transition of consciousness from the physical to the non-physical reality through the study of Ancient Mysteries and religions. The only thing I know for sure is that I don't know anything. The more answers I get, the more questions I have. I too am still a student. I hope reading this book will expand your consciousness and bring you peace of mind.
Peace & Joy!
Diane

"Core NDErs are people who have become what they know; their knowledge lives and grows within them. The NDE becomes their life... the source of their true being in the world. Unless this is understood about NDErs, what is most essential about them will not be grasped. And what they are capable of teaching the rest of us will then be lost."

--Ken Ring, PhD, Heading Toward Omega
